~~~~RULES~~~~~
1. Forum rules
- 1.1 Posts are to be made in the relevant forum. Users are asked to read the forum descriptions before posting. Users consistently posting to the wrong forum may be given a warning (see policing below).
- 1.2 Members should post in a way that is respectful of other users. Flaming or abusing users in any way will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning.
- 1.3 Members are asked to not act as “back seat moderators”. If members note an issue which contravenes something in this policy document they are welcome to bring it to the attention of a member of the Moderator Team. Please use the “post report” feature to report posts. Do not respond to such topics yourself. Members who constantly “act” as moderators may be warned.
- 1.4 Members should remember this board is aimed at a general audience. Posting pornographic or generally offensive text, images, links, etc. will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning.
- 1.5 Members are asked to respect the copyright of other users, sites, media, etc. Users linking to or asking for information on warez, crackz, etc. or re-printing material without permission will receive a warning and their post will be removed.
- 1.6 Members should respect the bandwidth of other users and sites. The use of inline () image tags pointing to data stored on third party systems for which the user has not received permission to link to may be removed.
- 1.7 Members should post in a way which is consistent with "normal writing". That is users should not post excessive numbers of emoticons, large, small or coloured text, etc. Similarly users should not SHOUT or use excessive punctuation (e.g. ! and ?) in topic titles or posts. Also do not use numbers in place of words or excessive "text speech" that is commonly used on SMS text messages. Users consistently abusing this will be warned.
- 1.8 Members should use an appropriate, descriptive title when posting a new topic. Examples of bad titles include; "Help me!", "I'm stuck!", "I've got an error!", etc. Examples of good titles include; "Getting an TABLE FULL error upon login", "Cannot restore a backup", etc.
- 1.9 Spam is not tolerated here under any circumstance. This includes offering hosting services (charged and free), installation services, solicitation etc. Recruiting members for your own projects is not permitted and is also considered spam. Users posting spam will be warned and their post removed. See specific item on spam and 3rd party linking for more information.
- 1.10 The moderating, support and other teams reserve the right to edit or remove any post at any time. The determination of what is construed as indecent, vulgar, spam, etc. as noted in these points is up to Team Members and not users.
- 1.11 The above forum rules where applicable also apply to private messaging. Abuse of the private messaging system may lead to warnings (as above) and/or the revocation of private messaging.
- 1.12 Spiritual discussions are allowed and encouraged, but the teaching of false doctrine (any doctrine that goes against our statement of beliefs) is strictly prohibited. If a moderator feels that a topic starts to move from discussion to just trying to push and restate what you believe then a warning may be posted in the topic as a reminder, the topic may be locked, or an official warning will be given to the user, depending on how serious the situation is. We realize this may be a fine line, but the purpose of this board is to encourage believers and disciple them, and witness to non-believers, not to hold debates or fight with those that are determined to speak against our beliefs.
2. Signatures
- 2.1 Signatures may contain up to five lines of text (of small or normal size) and/or one image. Images are not to be larger than 60px high and 468 px wide. If your image is a UserBar (20px high) then you are allowed 3. Animated images are not allowed.
- 2.2 Text sizes should be between 75% and 125% (small and normal). Text in signatures is subject to the same conditions as posts with respect decency, warez, emoticons, and so forth.
- 2.3 Links in signatures are permitted to a maximum of four unique pages or sites. ETM Leaders are allowed additional links to aid in support for ETM members. Such links may only be to *.EternalTruthMinistry.com or approved material. Linked sites may be commercial in nature. You may not link to warez, porn or political, racist or other similar hate sites. Links are included in signature size limits.
3. Avatars
- 3.1 Users are permitted to utilise a gallery avatar or to upload one of their own. User defined avatars are to be no larger than 120 pixels square, contain no image which attempts to portray the user as having an official status here (e.g. mimicking ranks or copying avatars of Leaders), and may not exceed 12KiB (12288 Bytes) in filesize.
- 3.2 Avatars are subject to the same conditions as posts with respect decency, and so forth.
- 3.3 Users abusing these rules will be warned and/or may lose their avatar privileges.
4. Moderators
- 4.1 Moderators and Admins have final say over issues on the board. Do not discuss in public the actions of any staff member like locking/deleting accounts or posts or editing a post for content. If you disagree with a decision made by a Mod or Admin, contact that individual to work it out, and if that isn't working then contact another moderator or admin for help. If you do not agree with the decisions made by the moderators and admins, you must still respect their authority on this website.
- 4.2 Moderators seen abusing their powers will be removed from the moderator position.
5. Warnings and Bans
- 5.1 Any violation of the rules will result in a warning being issued by a staff member. Each warning on your account will be accompanied with a note of why you were issued the warning and will stay on your record for 60 days.
- 5.2 After being issued the third warning an automatic ban will be placed on your account for 5 days. Moderators are authorized to ban any user if they feel it is necessary without there being any warnings issued.
